Anger Isn’t The Enemy

Anger itself isn’t wrong. It’s a signal- like a smoke alarm- telling you something deeper is
happening. The problem is what we do with that anger.
When anger turns into yelling, threats, or violence, it masks what’s really underneath: pain, fear, or feeling unseen. The goal isn’t to get rid of anger; it’s to understand it before it controls you.
Start by asking: What is my anger trying to tell me? Maybe it’s saying, “I’m hurt,” “I feel
rejected,” or “I don’t feel safe.” Once you name what’s underneath, you take away its power.
In my book, I teach strategies to pause before reacting, release tension in healthy ways, and
rewrite your emotional script. Because anger isn’t the enemy- silence is.
